As of September 7, 2010, Joe's Grass Fed Beef has a few animals that are still available for slaughter October -December 2010. These grass fed animals  are younger and therefore smaller than last year.  We are expecting 400-600 pound hanging weights.  The ground beef cooking has a delightful aroma and a taste that has to be experienced.   No grain, no antibiotics, no feed lot stress here on our farm;  our steers have enjoyed relaxed grazing in our rotational pastures.      If we can put people together, we can have the processor split the carcass into halves or quarters at no extra charge. Most splits are arranged among family or friends.     We are accepting deposits of $100 for a whole animal or $50 for a side to reserve a grassfed steer for 2010 fall delivery at a guaranteed price of $2.00 per pound hanging weight. 

We are not set up to accept credit cards.  With a deposit of $100 per animal, by check or money order payable to Edward Lysogorski or Joe's Grass Fed Beef, we will deliver your steer to Poole's Meat Processing in Standish, Michigan in the fall of 2010.     We like to have all the animals gone before freezing weather sets in.  Poole’s will dry age the animal for normally 10-14 days (three weeks or longer if you desire) and package according to your instructions; they will charge you $30 to kill your steer plus 39 cents per pound based on the hanging weight to cut, wrap, and freeze. (Processing fees are subject to change) 

Final pament is requested (hanging weight x price/pound minus paid deposit) the day you pick up your order or sooner and Poole's will expect their processing fees separately at the time you pick up your meat.  For an additional mileage charge we can deliver your live steer to a processor closer to your home.
